Install steps

  1. Get a lifetime license

    Purchase through Polar, then copy the license key from your Polar purchase page.

  2. Download and open Glimpse

    Use the official link on this page. Unzip the downloaded archive, move Glimpse to Applications, then launch it.

  3. Activate the license

    Paste your key into the lifetime license panel. Connect to the internet for initial activation. After activation, verified access works offline.

  4. Allow Accessibility

    Accessibility is required for global shortcuts, window discovery, focusing, and window actions. Follow the in-app permission guide after first launch.

  5. Optionally allow Screen Recording

    Screen Recording enables live thumbnails. Without it, Glimpse still lists windows with app icons and titles.

Default shortcuts

Hold the modifiers and press the trigger repeatedly. Add Shift to cycle backward. Arrow keys navigate, Return opens, Escape cancels.

Added shortcut profiles start disabled so they cannot unexpectedly take over another app’s shortcut. Record a chord and enable it in Settings. Quit AltTab if you need to avoid competing global shortcuts; Glimpse does not modify AltTab.

Browser-tab search

Safari and Google Chrome title/URL search is opt-in. After you enable it, macOS may ask for Automation permission. Browser titles and URLs stay local and clear when that window closes.
